Athletics is divided into track events (sprints, middle-distance, and long-distance running) and cross-country running (cross-country to be open to all registered and paid athletes – free entry for all athletes).
The MIG 2025 athletics competition will feature male and female individual events in two age groups – junior masters (39 and under) and senior masters (40 and over) categories. Field events will include long jump, high jump, and triple jump.
For specific information regarding the rules and regulations that will be followed for the MIG 2025, please refer to the International Association of Athletics Federation Rulebook or the MIG 2025 Sport Technical Pack.

This addition of Arctic sports to the MIG 2025 lineup will celebrate the rich cultural heritage and traditional sports of Indigenous peoples from the Arctic regions. The following events will take place as a part of the Arctic sports competition at MIG 2025:

The basketball competition for the MIG 2025 will consist of a competitive tournament and a recreational tournament. Both tournaments will have male and female divisions.
Minimum team size is 7 players and the maximum is 13 players.
Canoe/Kayak Rideau Canoe Club 804 Hog's Back Road, Ottawa, ON
The MIG Canoe/Kayak competition consists of male and female singles, doubles, and open mixed doubles events in the following two age categories:
Junior Masters (39 and under)
Senior Masters (40 and over)

Golf Competition for the 2025 Masters Indigenous Games will consist of male and female competitons in the following age groups:

Lacrosse at the 2025 Masters Indigenous Games will consist of male and female box lacrosse tournaments. Each team is guaranteed a minimum of 3 games (pending registration numbers).

Join us for competitive men’s and women’s fast-pitch tournaments and men’s, women’s, and co-ed recreational slo-pitch tournaments. Teams will consist of 10-15 players, showcasing top-notch skills and sportsmanship.
The volleyball competition for the MIG 2025 will consist of male competitive and female competitive teams. Volleyball will also feature an option for recreational co-ed open teams competition.

The most recent version of World Archery- Field & 3D Archery Rules will apply, unless otherwise stated in this package. Competition Format: athletes will shoot two (2) rounds of twenty (20) targets per day from unmarked distances according to their age and equipment division.
