Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation have generously agreed to sponsor the upcoming 2023 Games.
Mississauga, Ontario — July 27, 2023 — The Masters Indigenous Games organizing committee is excited to announce that Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) will sponsor this year’s Games. Supporting the 2023 Masters Indigenous Games underscores OLG’s ongoing commitment to give back to communities across Ontario.
Indigenous Sport and Wellness Ontario (ISWO) is thrilled for OLG to contribute to the upcoming Games. OLG’s commitment will help ensure the Games’ success and that Indigenous athletes have the opportunity to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level. It will also enable Indigenous performers and artists to showcase their talents in entertainment exhibitions throughout the Games.
“We’re proud to have the support of OLG for our upcoming Games. This partnership will enable us to provide a high-calibre sporting experience for participating athletes and highlight the tremendous artistic talent in our Indigenous communities,” said Marc Laliberte, president of ISWO.
Indigenous Sport & Wellness Ontario (ISWO) is the official Provincial/Territorial Aboriginal Sport Body(P/TASB) for Ontario and consistently delivers outstanding sporting and cultural events. Following a few challenging years of restrictions and limitations on in-person programming, ISWO successfully hosted the 2022 Ontario Summer Indigenous Games.
“For over four decades, OLG’s core mission has been to give back to the people of this province
and supporting important events like the 2023 Masters Indigenous Games helps us deliver on
our promise to contribute to a better Ontario,” said Duncan Hannay, OLG’s President and CEO.
“We also have a proud history of championing amateur athletics in Ontario, and we are
delighted to be part of an event that will showcase some very skilled Indigenous athletes,
while also offering a stage for many talented Indigenous performers and artists.”
OLG is a crown agency that contributes to a better Ontario by delivering great entertainment
experiences for its customers. OLG conducts and manages land-based gaming facilities; the
sale of province-wide lottery games; Internet gaming; and the delivery of bingo and other
electronic gaming products at Charitable Gaming Centres. Since 1975, OLG has provided
nearly $57 billion to the people and the Province of Ontario to support key government priorities.
In addition, each year profits from OLG’s operations also support gaming host communities,
Ontario First Nations, lottery retailers, and local charities across the province.
