About NAV Canada

You’ve trained to perform under pressure, make split-second decisions, and stay focused when the stakes are high. The qualities that make you a standout in sport—discipline, mental agility, and composure—are exactly what we look for in air traffic services careers.

Whether you’re interested in the high-stakes world of air traffic control (ATC) or the critical coordination of flight service specialists (FSS), your skills are already a strong match. At NAV CANADA, we’re looking for athletes like you—individuals who thrive in fast-paced, team-driven environments and know how to stay sharp under pressure.

As an air traffic controller, you’ll make real-time decisions that keep flights safe and efficient across Canada’s skies. As a flight service specialist, you’ll be the eyes and ears on the ground, delivering vital information to pilots and supporting safe operations from coast to coast. Both roles require precision, adaptability, and calm in the face of complexity—just like sport.

The best part? No aviation experience is needed. We provide full training, cover the costs, and even pay you a salary—around $48,000-56,000/year—while you learn. If you need to relocate for training, you may also qualify for a living stipend. Once certified, your earning potential grows quickly, with our graduates starting between ~$78,000 and $134,000/year, plus applicable premiums.
